During a two-day trade mission, the Minister of State, who is responsible for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, officially opened Skanstec’s Lisbon office at the end of April 2022.
He visited Portugal with the goal of promoting the country as a flourishing destination for Irish exports, and to further highlight the success of Irish companies already in the Portuguese market.
In his speech, the minister commented:
“I am delighted to lead the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Portugal in this the 80th anniversary of Ireland’s diplomatic presence in Portugal. Eurozone markets are an area of significant potential for innovative Irish companies to establish and grow, and the reasons for this are obvious; we share a common currency and are part of stable and strong economies. The value of two-way trade in goods between Ireland and Portugal at present is just under €1 billion. Last year was the highest year on record for the export of goods from Ireland to Portugal, reaching over €600 million for the first time.”
We are delighted that we at Skanstec can play such a pivotal role in creating stronger economic ties within the Eurozone markets.
